This family-owned enterprise produces a premier and truly southern product called “Mom Bell’s Chow Chow.” Originally this sought-after food product was made in the small farm kitchen of my grandmother Mrs. Albina Bell (in the 1960’s) who taught my mother, Mrs. Annie Mae Paige Bell how to make the chow chow. For years, our family informally shared this condiment (which comes in a mild or hot version) with family members and friends. Those who experienced the product were taken by its excellent quality and ingredients, many of which were grown on our family farm. Year after year, friends and family requested personal jars of chow chow which was “Made with love to taste better”.

"With a passion, we have worked meticulously to meet the standards of producing “Mom Bell’s Chow Chow.”

With a passion, we have worked meticulously to meet the standards of producing “Mom Bell’s Chow Chow.” The process required meeting specific certification requirements and approval by Clemson Extension. Upon meeting those standards, in July 2021, Clemson granted product approval for marketing and selling Mom Bell’s Chow Chow. SC Department of Health and SC Department of Agriculture require a certified kitchen to produce the chow chow for marketing. Due to this requirement, AbellA, LLC identified and contracted with a co-packer to produce the chow chow in volumes.
